At first blush, this sounds kind of crazy, but when you look at the bigger strategic picture it makes sense. With former Android head Andy Rubin relocating to work on other projects at Google, and Chrome head Sundar Pichai taking over Android, it means that the Android and Chrome teams are now under unified leadership. Micromax Canvas presented with Jelly Bean update

By declaring that the Canvas 2 can now be updated to Android Jelly Bean, Micromax may have diverted owners’ attention away from the hoopla engulfing the smartphone’s affordable quad core successor, for a while. The device which had been pre-loaded with Ice Cream Sandwich during its launch, has received this update over four months after it struck stores.

As pleasant as it sounds, this offering for the device too comes with a catch. What seems to be the case is that this particular Jelly Bean update lacks the potential of being an over the air upgrade. Both the phones are great and make an impact in their own way. Stick to the iPhone 5 if you are keen on a smaller and lighter phone. But if you’re a fan of bulk, the Xperia Z is value for money.  It may seem like we’re sitting on the fence, but it’s not easy to choose between two of a kind; the iPhone 5 with its ease of use and the Xperia Z with its attention to detail. It boils down to a matter of personal preference.. Since this is the first Android phone to hit its mark and perhaps even cross it, the interest in this phone is really high. Our preference? Ah, we’re not influencing your decision!
